Title: The Two Week Curse Pdf Ten Realms, Book 1

Thrust into an unknown, unwanted situation, most would feel panic, fear anger, and fall into chaos. Erik and Rugrat are not immune to those feelings, but they have stepped into chaos so many times, it is simply a different challenge.

Two weeks ago, Erik lost his legs and his arm.

Today he got a message.

"You have been randomly selected to join the Ten Realms. One may choose to ascend the Ten Realms, thereupon making a request to the Gods of the Realms. Only those who are Level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 may ascend to the next realm. Fortune favors the strong!"

For a retired combat medic and Marine Recon sniper, the Ten Realms offer a clear challenge and sense of purpose that they had only found on the battlefield.

How much trouble can you get into in a new realm?

Great start to a series! The two week curse is the culmination of two interesting ideas: 1) A GameLit / LitRPG story, and 2) touching on some of the “cultivation” style stories you read in Wuxia stories. What results is an interesting take with two soldiers going into a brand new world of mana and body cultivation. The characters, Erik and Rugrat, give different takes on how to focus in this new stat based world, and the contrast makes for a fascinating story.I would recommend this story to readers of GameLit / LitRPG stories and people with an interest in Wuxia stories. It is a great start to a new series, and those of us who have read Michael Chatfields Previous work will definitely enjoy.Seems like it was written by a different author - interesting (but not good) litrpg Has Mr. Chatfield taken up ghostwriting?I enjoyed the Emerilia series, though it had its issues. To be honest, this book seems to be written by someone else. The prose is not as developed, the characters are shallow (to be fair, Emerilia only had 2.5D characters... but they were better than this), the style reads like an ESL author from Royal Road Legends (some good, some bad, lots of mediocre) with awkward phrasings that seems like the product of a translation engine, and a flow of writing that tells rather than shows. Even in Emerilia's roughest moments, it came across better than this book. Mr. Chatfield, what happened?I think the premise has some interesting possibilities, even though the character choice is a bit cliched (ex-military sucked into a game world). There are some fun litrpg moments, though the main characters become overpowered (OP) too quickly - a common cliche or fault in litrpg and 'cultivation' fiction, both.In the end: Meh. Buy/Read it if you enjoy cultivation and/or litrpg fiction and are willing to forgive some faults. Otherwise, you can skip it.(I'll be honest - I'm a sucker for litrpg, and the books are priced cheaply enough, so I may continue to read the series... When I run out of other material in my backlog.)
